Equity Visioning Committee – SSD Parents/Guardians, Staff
The Sherwood School District’s Equity Visioning Committee acts as a guiding committee to the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and other District Staff working toward equitable outcomes and inclusive practices. The Equity Visioning Committee includes students, parents and guardians, district staff, and community members. The make up of the committee purposefully includes a wide range of perspectives, working to represent historically underserved voices.
As we move forward with the District’s equity work, this committee is invaluable. Hearing from and being guided by individuals from all backgrounds is a necessary component of any work related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. This committee helps ensure we, as a district, continue to collaborate with and support our community.
Building Equity Leads – SSD Staff
The Sherwood School District’s Building Equity Leads collaborate with the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, as well as building administrators and leadership, to develop and implement building-level inclusive, equity-focused plans and activities. Additionally, Equity Leads help mentor, support, and guide building staff as they engage in work related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Equity Leads are essential to continuing the anti-bias, inclusive efforts of the Sherwood School District (SSD). The Equity Lead positions offer continued support for all building staff as well as collaboration when implementing Sherwood School District’s inclusive activities and equity initiatives.
