The Sherwood School District is pleased to announce the hiring of Marc Jolley as Associate Principal at Sherwood Middle School.  The position became vacant with the June resignation of prior associate principal, Kevin McIntosh.

When asked how he felt about his new role, Mr. Jolley said, “I am excited to be a part of the incredible staff and community of the Sherwood School District.  Joining Sherwood Middle School is a wonderful opportunity and I look forward to being a part of such a strong and committed team.”  He will officially join Sherwood staff on August 1, 2016.

Mr. Jolley comes to Sherwood from the Tigard-Tualatin School District, where he most recently served as a language arts teacher at Tigard High School for 11 years.  Jolley also provided instructional support for classroom teachers as an Instructional Coordinator at Tigard High from 2011-2014.  Prior to joining the TTSD, he was a 9th grade language arts teacher at Southridge High School in Beaverton from 2001-2004.

Mr. Jolley obtained a B.A. English/Language Arts Degree from Western Oregon University in 2000, and earned his Master’s Degree in Education from Portland State University in 2002.  In addition to his teaching experience, Mr. Jolley served as an Area Trainer in the Pacific Northwest for the Cambium Learning Group.  In that role, he trained teachers in LANGUAGE! The Comprehensive Literacy Curriculum, supported school-wide curriculum adoption, and instructed small groups of students, teachers and administrators in literacy concepts.

“Marc’s professionalism, personality, integrity, and commitment to serving others shined through during the hiring process.  I am looking forward to partnering with him as we continue to support student, staff and families at Sherwood Middle School,” said Marianne Funderhide, SMS Principal.
