With staff and student safety at the forefront of our decision-making in our District, Sherwood Schools will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, December 8, 2016. All school activities and events are also canceled.
Decisions related to weather and how to proceed as a school district is always challenging, especially when the weather can be unpredictable in our area. While reports suggest the morning may be clear, we take seriously the advisement of local and national weather service, consultation with neighboring districts, and carefully consider the potential road hazards for staff, parents, and bus drivers that can result if the winter storm precipitation arrives as forecasted. For this reason, we are choosing to close the district to ensure the safety of all.
