Press Release: SSD Introduces Transportation Supervisor

By

The Sherwood School District is pleased to announce the hiring of Sandi Miller, who will serve as the District’s Transportation Supervisor.

Superintendent of the District, Dr. Heather Cordie, said, “We are thrilled to have Sandi Miller join our team. She is a knowledgeable, customer service-oriented transportation leader who prioritizes student safety and believes the bus should be an extension of the classroom.”

Sandi Miller joins Sherwood from the Eugene School District, where she has served as the Transportation Supervisor for the Special Needs Department since 2013. Prior to her role in Eugene, Ms. Miller was the Driver Development Coordinator (2012-2013) and Driver Trainer (2012) in the Greater Albany Public Schools. Her experience in transportation began with the Greater Albany Public Schools in 2003, as a school bus driver, taking on increased responsibilities with her career growth.

In addition to over 13 years of experience transporting students, Ms. Miller has also served as both President and Vice President of the South Willamette Chapter of the Oregon Pupil Transportation Association.

When asked how she felt about her new role, Ms. Miller said, “I am so excited to join the outstanding team at Sherwood School District. A student’s bus ride is such an important part of their school experience, and I look forward to uniting with the staff at the Transportation Department to provide the students of Sherwood safe, enjoyable, and reliable transportation.” She will officially join Sherwood staff in January 2017.
