For 2016 Capital Improvement Bond:
Transformation Visioning Advisory Committees (TVAC)
In November 2016, Sherwood
voters approved passage of a bond measure to support Sherwood Schools in
addressing capacity challenges District-wide, among other projects. A large
part of the bond is the construction of a new high school on a new site; other
key projects include several building transformations, including: the current
high school to a middle school; Sherwood Middle School (SMS) to an elementary;
and Laurel Ridge Middle School (LRMS) to an elementary. The District
would like your voice to be part of the process for those transformation
projects.
We will be creating three
advisory committees — one for each transformation project — and we want
parents from those schools to be a part of those committees. We need two
parents from LRMS, two parents from SMS, three from Hopkins, three from Edy
Ridge and four “at-large” from the elementary level.
The objective of the
committee(s) is to advise the District regarding the transformation of existing
buildings to their new purpose – all new buildings will open in the fall of
2020.
Committee meetings will be
held from April or May thru July 2018. The committee(s) may meet during weekday
morning, afternoon or evening hours during the summer. Please submit your
application only if you are able to make arrangements to attend during those
times, and into the summer months.
