District Announces New Associate Principal at Ridges Elementary

By

The Sherwood School District is pleased to announce that Mr. Tim Smith has been selected as the new Associate Principal at Ridges Elementary. Mr. Smith will be filling the position vacated by Amy Mitchell, who was recently selected to serve as Principal at Hawks View Elementary.

With 37 years of experience in education — including 27 years experience as an elementary principal — Mr. Smith will be bringing extensive leadership and instructional experience to his new role as Associate Principal. Additionally, after serving 13 years in the Sherwood School District as Principal at Middleton Elementary, the former Hopkins Elementary, and most recently Archer Glen Elementary, Mr. Smith has strong relationships with staff and families throughout the District. While he retired in June 2021, he has continued to serve our schools as a custodian during the last school year, and looks forward to continuing to serve students and families as he joins the Ridges team. He is also a resident of Sherwood, having lived in the community for the last 14 years with his wife Pamela and daughter Delaney (an SHS graduate).

“I feel incredibly blessed to have been entrusted with the privilege of serving the Ridges learning community for the upcoming year and to be able to join such a strong team of dedicated professionals in achieving positive outcomes for our students,” shared Mr. Smith.

Ridges Elementary Principal Miranda Johnson noted, “Mr. Smith has many years of administrator experience and will be a great asset to our school. We are so lucky to have him joining our team!”
