Sherwood School District is pleased to announce Brittany Morales as the new Associate Principal at Sherwood Middle School. Ms. Morales will begin her new role on July 1, 2024, filling the position vacated by Emily Anderson, who will be moving to a position in the Tigard-Tualatin School District.
“I’m beyond thrilled to be joining the Sherwood Middle School staff and community along with coming back to the school district and community that I grew up in,” shared Ms. Morales. “The Sherwood School district has a strong reputation for student success and I’m eager to contribute, collaborate and get to work at Sherwood Middle School!”
A graduate of the Sherwood School District herself, Ms. Morales began her educational career in the Newberg-Dundee School District in 2015. During this time, she taught upper elementary classrooms and then went on to become an ELD specialist in the district. In 2022 she was appointed as the Teaching and Learning Coordinator at the Newberg-Dundee District Office. While serving in this role, she was the district test coordinator, oversaw the ELD department, and supported various projects and tasks across the district. Ms. Morales received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Oregon and a Masters of Teaching, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) endorsement, and Administrative License from George Fox University.
Noted incoming SMS Principal Andy Van Fleet, “Brittany Morales is the kind of person who lights up a room when she enters. Her energy is contagious, and she knows and understands the Sherwood community. She is a product of the Sherwood school system and is coming home to serve in the district that educated her — she will inspire students with her achievements and is a walking Sherwood success story. We are thrilled to have her on the team, and can’t wait to start this important work alongside her.”
