The Sherwood School District implemented the Academic Mastery Program (“AMP”) in spring of 2014 to meet the needs of the advanced learner through regular classroom curricula and instruction that are adapted, modified, or replaced based on need.

The district has dedicated funds to giving teachers time through planned work sessions to create “AMP” options for their units of study. These options foster higher level thinking and provide the opportunity for advanced learning and performance in language arts, social studies, science and mathematics in grades 3 through 8.

At the high school level, students are encouraged to select courses designed for advanced learners (e.g. honors, Advanced Placement, academic electives). Please click on the link below to access the Bowman Guide for information on high school classes and diploma options.
