Interdistrict Transfers – 2020-21 School Year

Interdistrict Transfers OUT of Sherwood:

  1. The Board of Directors approved 40 slots for transfers to other school districts for students that live in the Sherwood School District boundary. All 2020-21 slots of transfers out of District are full at this time.

Interdistrict Transfers INTO Sherwood:

With the opening of the new Sherwood High School in the fall of 2020, the District now has capacity at the high school level to allow additional students. District enrollment projections for the next three years are below expectations. As student enrollment is the primary source of funding, the Board has directed staff to allow for an additional 45 student transfers from outside the district boundaries — at grades 9 through 12 — for the 2020-21 school year. Students admitted under these transfers will be able to attend Sherwood High School through graduation, provided they meet the requirements of our transfer agreement related to attendance and behavior. Transportation will not be provided to students admitted under this Board action.

Following an initial application window, 28 non-resident transfer slots — at grades 9 through 12 — remain for the 2020-21 school year.

The 17 remaining slots will be allocated as noted below:

  • Grades 9-12 only, slots will be given on a first come, first served basis.
  • Application window will remain open until slots are filled.

The application process is as follows:

  • The application is located at this link
  • Completed applications should be emailed to csullivan@sherwood.k12.or.us

Applicants will be notified via email as application is approved and processed.

In-District Transfers

In-District Transfers (between Sherwood schools):

  • The District will accept In-District transfer requests for extenuating, critical and highly unusual needs of individual students. These are managed on a case-by-case basis and we anticipate approving few, if any, of these requests.
