Transfers for the 2022-23 School Year
Interdistrict Transfers INTO Sherwood:
The Sherwood School Board is allowing the transfer of 105 non-resident students into the Sherwood School District for the 2022-23 school year. Students are admitted through graduation, provided they meet the attendance and behavior requirements of our Interdistrict Transfer Agreement. Transportation will not be provided to students admitted under this Board action.
The slots are allocated as noted below:
- Sherwood High School
- 45 slots at 9-12 grade
- Sherwood Middle School
- 15 slots at 6th grade
- 10 slots at 7th grade
- 5 slots at 8th grade
- Middleton Elementary School ONLY
- 5 slots at Kindergarten
- 5 slots at 1st grade
- 5 slots at 2nd grade
- 5 slots at 3rd grade
- 5 slots at 4th grade
- 5 slots at 5th grade
Lottery Process
- The application window will remain open until 4:00 pm on Friday, April 1st; all applications received in the District Office by that time shall be included in the lottery.
- Preference in the lottery will be given to students who attended the Sherwood School District in the 2021-22 school year.
- Secondary preference in the lottery will be given to students who attended the Sherwood Charter School throughout the entirety of the 2020-21 and 2021-22 school years.
- After the lottery, requests will be approved in the order received and the application window will remain open until slots are filled.
Application Process
- Complete the Request for Nonresident Student Admission – Interdistrict Transfer form.
- Email completed form to cmower@sherwood.k12.or.us.
- Contact your residential district to apply for a release. We must have a release from your residential school district even if your student has never attended.
- Applicants will be notified via email as their application is processed.

Interdistrict Transfers OUT of Sherwood:
The Sherwood School Board granted release to 30 students for transfer out of Sherwood for the 2022-23 school year. The application window will remain open until slots are filled. Requests will be approved in the order received.
Application Process
- Complete the Request for Interdistrict Transfer Out of Resident District form.
- Email completed form to cmower@sherwood.k12.or.us.
- You must request a transfer into the school district where you wish to attend.
- Applicants will be notified via email as their application is processed.

In-District Transfers (between Sherwood elementary schools):
The Sherwood School District will accept In-District transfer requests for extenuating, critical and highly unusual needs of individual students. These are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and we anticipate approving few, if any, of these requests.
The application process is as follows:
- Complete the Intradistrict Transfer Request form.
- Email completed form to cmower@sherwood.k12.or.us.
- Applicants will be notified via email as their application is processed.
