Thank you for your interest in volunteering in the Sherwood School District. The time our parents and community members devote to our schools is what helps make our district great. Sherwood School District welcomes volunteers for the 2023-2024 school year.
To learn about specific volunteer opportunities or needs, please see the following list of current volunteer openings or get involved in one of our parent groups (see links at bottom of page). All volunteers in the Sherwood School District must complete the Background Check process outlined below and be cleared prior to starting.

Our SHS Athletics Department is seeking volunteers for the following current and upcoming opportunities:
- Scoreboard Operator (JV/Freshman Football) – Thursdays between 4:00-7:00pm – These volunteers would keep the clock/score at JV/Freshman football home games. Knowledge about basketball is helpful. *Because this volunteer role requires training, volunteers who can attend games consistently have priority.*
- Basketball Announcer – Monday-Friday between 5:30-9:00pm Starts December 2023 – These volunteers would read the starting line-ups and half-time sponsor announcements at home games.
- Golf Cart Drivers – Monday-Friday between 4:00-8:00pm – These volunteers would drive a golf cart 30 minutes before the start of a game and at the end of the game to assist patrons with mobility issues needing help from the main parking lot to the ticketing entrance.

Background Check Forms
Every volunteer in Sherwood School District must have a criminal background check completed each school year. It can take 7-10 business days to complete the process, so if you would like to volunteer for a specific event or date, please plan ahead!
You only need to submit your information one time per school year. Once it has cleared, your name will be added to the master list for all locations.
If you would like to volunteer, please complete the electronic volunteer background check form linked below.
Please only submit a background check once – it costs money for each submission, even if the person has already been approved.
Please note all volunteers will need to complete SB 155 training. This training is also linked in the volunteer background check forms above.
Please contact Human Resources with any questions.
Our school parent groups (PACs/PSOs) regularly seek volunteers to assist with school events, activities, fundraisers, etc. For more information about the volunteer needs of each school’s parent group, please see the links below.
