This morning our district received a report that one of our bus drivers did not allow two high school students onto a bus because the students did not have face masks. Prior to Limited In-Person Instruction starting in January, the District stocked every bus with a kit containing both child and adult sized disposable masks; our drivers have been trained to offer students a mask from the kit when needed. Upon review this morning, we have determined that the driver failed to offer the students masks from the kit per District protocols.
The District will be retraining all bus drivers on our protocols, including a face-to-face conversation with every bus driver today before afternoon routes begin. We apologize to these students and their families for this mistake, and thank them for their patience as we respond to the issue.
