Governor Kate Brown Announces Mask Mandate for K-12 Schools

By

This morning, Governor Kate Brown directed the Oregon Health Authority and the Oregon Department of Education to create a rule requiring masks indoors for K-12 schools statewide for the 2021-22 school year, in alignment with CDC guidance.  This announcement means that mask guidance in schools will be mandatory in the coming year, meaning that this decision will no longer be made at the District level.

We are awaiting further information and updates to the Ready Schools, Safe Learners Resiliency Framework in the coming days. For more information on the Governor’s announcement, please click here.
